Ok, so Logan has Albinism.
I have noticed his legs to be different lengths. Took him to the Dr. They just said it was my imagination. Got a 2nd opinion, and yep there is a difference.
There is about a cm difference. One of his patellas is half the size of the other. One leg is fatter than the other. His hips and knees and shoulders are always clicking/cracking. One of his ankles is alot more felxible than the other, and seems like there is not the same amount of bone as the other one.
People with Albinism do have back and spine problems.
He is booked in for a hip u/s on Monday, but until then, I was just wondering if someone knew what could possibly be wrong?
I read on the net that someone's baby had to have an x-ray and the parents had to strip the baby off to the nude and hold them down while they cried. I definately DONT and WONT be doing that as I think it's cruel.
I'm no expert but I'm wondering if they are looking for a dislocatable hip? Especially if his hips are clicking.
My DD1 had Congenital Hip Dysplaysia and had hip u/s at 6 and 12 weeks and DD2 had an u/s at 6 weeks too but didn't have it.
Anyway the u/s is not as bad as having to strip the bub nude and hold them down - OMG by the way!! They have this little wedge thingie that they lie bub in on his/her side so they can't move, you just move enough clothes out of the way so they can access the hip - it is really quite gentle. DD2 slept throught it all!

YEP had to strip of M for his hip and leg xrays but he didnt cry, I took a toy in to calm him down and we sang little songs quietly together.
They are really good at the hospital, try not to stress hon
For some scans (MRI is one), clothes with metal can't be worn but others clothes are ok. It can't hurt to dress him in clothes with minimal buttons and clips- especially metal, and there might be a chance of him keeping stuff on. good luck.
Thanks for all the quick replies. Im not worried about stripping bubba off (he loves to be a nudie), it's the holding him down while he's crying bit that I don't like. Fingers crossed he won't have to be held down.
Megsmum- The u/s form says "?CDH" so I'm presuming it's the same as your DD. Everytime the MCHN or Drs have checked his hips like they do, they haven't clicked.
I had a number of procedures and operations as a child, and i only remember Mum being there as a comfort. I would much rather Mum be there when 'bad' things happened than being by myself or just with the medical staff.
