    Needing help, what to take

    Hi everyone,

I have been hiding and have not posted on here in a very long time. I finally have gotten in with a Pead with a referral for my daughter. Her "traits" are becoming more apparent and i know have back up from a doctor, natural therepist and her daycare teachers.

So her app is next week............ what is the best things to take? i have a letter from the daycare centre and the referal, hearing tests etc from the hospital as she has had glue ear and now has grommits (sp?)

is there anything i should try and get to help the pead?

also how long does the process take?

Thank you in advance for your help

Good luck with your appointment next week. I would just be taking any reports/letters that have been done. I would imagine it would just be a 'chat' and then see where to go if assessments etc are needed. Hope it all goes well

I would write down her "quirks" or "traits". Write down behviours over a few days, what happens when you go to the shops? What happens when you try something new? How is she when you meet new people, is it just shyness or is it something different, how is she afterwards?

We used to have shops hangovers, where she'd actually behave, but then would have issues for hours afterwards...

Food traits, what happens with food, what is her diet?

    Sleeping patterns and traits....

I would look up Sensory PRocessing Disorder and find a check list, go through it and bring it with you. Very Very important.

    Good luck!!

BTW... have a look at our Sensory Processing Disorder/Autism/Aspergers thread and have a read at things that have happened over time for those going through the diagnosis process.
