that is not only illegal but downright rude to sell that to you. What a cheek making 22 dollars out of something she didn't even pay for but got as a perk of her husband' s job. She should give it away or barter it through some book freecycle scheme. If she must absolutely sell it on ebay she should have put it as buy it now at a really low price that reflects it is an abridged version and it was originally a freebie. Poor show on her part, explanation or not.
Thanks girls:) I have made contact with the seller expressing my unhappiness. Just waiting now to hear back from her.
Let us know how you go! xxx
Girls, just an update on my dodgy ebay sale...
The seller was very apologetic and has offered me a full refund. She wasn't aware that there was an abridged version of the BLW book and seemed genuinely upset that she had 'misled' me.
So, I'm going to return the book to her and start my search for the full version all over again. :shakehead:
Try Amazon UK or the Book depository!
Glad to hear you got it sorted though babe, hated to think of you being ripped off!!!!! GGRR!
How many chapters is it meant to haveSue? just so i know when mine comes
Yay Mooks. I love hearing about a good win.
I ordered the book from the book depository about a week ago, it's my first order so I don't know how long I'll be waiting. What I do know is how much I am looking forward to reading it. I can't wait to learn more about this :)
My book arrived :) Remember how I mentioned I was going to order the September 2010 version? Well I am pretty sure it's just the same and just the revised one so all good. I have only read chapter one but I am SO KEEN for this. I also mentioned it to my SIL who has a DS the same age as DD. She said that her husband (my silly bro) wanted to start their DS on solids this week (4 months) so she went off to the CHN who advised to wait until 6 months. The CHN also recommended BLS. I am thrilled with this because this means that we will both be doing it and there'll be no concerns about who's way is better and confused grandparents/aunties and uncles. yay!
Awesome Starangelk!! You've got lots of time to read it before you start!!

I know LOL I am going to be super organised
It's an easy book to read so it won't take you long. Only took me around a week! And I have it in the kitchen now to refer to when I need - which at the moment is every day! :D
Okay, I have finished the book and I am so super impressed - it is awesome! We still have a couple of months to go before we even think about DD eating but I am glad I have read the book early because it dawned on me that she rarely sees us eat at the moment. She is asleep when we eat bfast, asleep when we eat lunch and goes to bed before we eat dinner. Hmmmmm. The bfast thing won't change but I am going to ask DH to eat his lunch or have a snack when she is watching. Then over the next few weeks we are going to have to work out a time to make her bedtime a bit later...........
I am a bit nervous about the whole nutritional thing too but DH and I eat fairly healthy, we eat alot of vegetables in our house so I guess that's a good thing. I have never thought about having to worry about balanced diets before now! I really like how the book recommends over and over to trust your baby that she is getting enough food. It makes perfect sense to me because I already trust that she is drinking enough milk, trust that she is giving herself enough sleep and trust that she is progressing at the right rate for her developmentally.
How's it going for your DD MummaSue? I'd love to hear all about it, especially how messy it is - LOL
It is very messy LOL
But very fun, always food all over the highchair and floor..We love it and so does Hannah, Her fav food atm is brocoli, she loves it, we steam it cool it down and she cant get enough
also Avocado and bananna loves them! They are super messy but i dont mind , we have a lot of fun
She now sits at the table with us for all 3 meals , if she is awake at lunch..I think she already knows whats hapening when we put her in her high chair :)
Hannah had mango for the first time the other day LOL she was shuddering at it lol, well it is a very different taste
That sounds so fantastic Shell, I think I am absolutely going to have to reschedule her awake times around meals.
DD has varying interest, some days she just doesn't bother with the food I give her, other times she's totally up for it! I just let her take the lead. She seems to love toast, apple, baby corn. I've also tried her with capsicum, broccoli, carrot but wasn't too keen. I'll keep at it though, I trust that she knows what she wants.
It's funny too, there is loads of mess. When she's munched on a finger of toast, you'd think she'd eaten a loaf!!
The gagging freaks me out though but she's getting better at spitting the food out without gagging thank goodness!!
Lots of fun!!
