I wouldn't give anything hard to start with. Soft things that are easy to chew. I gave my dd soft chicken and mince and then moved onto other meat as she got better at chewing. Spaghetti bolognaise was a great one. Salmon patties, meat balls were great too. Steamed veg sticks are great. Try something really soft first to see how they go with chewing rather than sucking. As for storing food our dd has pretty much always had what we have. I will cook a big batch of veg sticks and put some in the fridge. You could freeze small portions of diff meals easily.
