Do you like my girls name and spelling?

I'm not a fan, not just of the spelling but the name, reminds me of booze lol...but hey, I'm not a part of your life, all that matters really is if you like it. I knew a Bailey who was awesome (but it was a guy)

I think of it as a boys name but it sounds nice for a girl too. I like the spelling Bayley.

I didnt think I was changing the spelling as I got it from a baby name book and under the name 'Bailey' it said the female version is 'Bayley' also I thought 'Baylee' was a bit more girly.

Same here hun, i actually got Bailea from the alternative spelling section of bailey, it anoys me when people ask why i messed with the spelling, im like i didnt it was in the book! lol

For me i see Bailea as a more male name, but it was hubbys turn to choose, so i agreed if we could have different spelling. and it totally suits her

I have a normal name with a whacky spelling and it's a nightmare. Just go with Bailey.

It's hard as a person when you have a name that no one is 100% sure how to pronounce. I guess that's how I feel about baylea and baylee etc etc... nice name when you are told how to say it, but I'd rather not have to be told.

Love the name!! (My DS is Bailey), However we named him Bailey as that was my Mum's maiden name and we also loved it as not every single kid will be called the same

I may be biased, but I am not a big fan of alternate spelling, its frustrating when people spell your name wrong, so spelling it different means there is a very big chance most people will assume it is spelled differently.

I really liked the name Bailey for a boy but seeing as my DD is Kailey that could get a bit weird

When I see bailea, or Bailey, or Baylee, I hear the same thing. Same name, different spelling. I prefer bailea over Baylee as an alternative spelling (when I say Baylee I saw bay leaf!! I know.... Stupid right!!?)

I have Darcie, which sounds the same as Darcy, but I just thought it looked more girly seeing as it is a unisex name.

I think the spelling Bailey suits a boy and Baylee suits a girl. Just likeAshley is originally.the boys spelling and Ashleigh is the girls. I don't like Baylea...it looks funny. My name is Kirsty-Lea and I do have to.spell it for ppl because they automatically write Kristy-Lee or the pronounce it like 'leah'...however it's my name and I love it. Im all for changing names slightly for a bit more individuality. I'd rather my name have 'ie' instead of the y...and in baby names I have picked out I favour y over the traditional I and e..eg jasmyn and jaymes. So what if you have to spell ur name. Some ppl are daft that they couldn't spell simple names like robert and kylie anyway. Change the spelling hope you like! Its not like you've picked crazy spelling

We have chosen this name for a boy (if we ever have one!) But we will be going with the traditional spelling Bailey

I am a fan of traditional spellings.

DD2 is Marley. And TBH, I really REALLY wish I had spelt it Marlee. For this kind of name (Ashley, Marley, Bailey) where it is so androgynous, I can totally understand the need to make the name a bit more obviously feminine. Bailey is a traditional spelling, but traditionally the name was masculine.

I prefer your Baylee. It is not like you are taking 'Natasha' and turning it into 'Naytarschya' just for the hell of it.

FWIW, my DD1 is 'Charlotte' - you would not believe how many times I have to spell THAT to people. O_o
