Emerson - Boy or Girl name?

Okay DH and I really love the name Emerson.

Originally we wanted to use it for a boy but we also think it would make a nice girl name.

The Shortened versions could be Em, Emmy, Emz etc.

What does everyone else think?? boy or girl name??

Well You've both convinced me!! It can be either! lol All I wanted was at least one other person to agree that it could be a girl name!

Funny enough, I was just thinking this yesterday!

I personally think that Emmerson is a boy sounding name, but I have heard of it used for both.

My first thought was that it could be either. The only one I have heard of is Teri Hatcher's DD.

I love the name. I know it as a boys' name, like Emerson Fittipaldi, the famous race-car driver but in saying that I love it as a girls name too.

I think girl first off but could be for both. It's a great name!
