I really like it too. One of the girls on here has a little girl with that name. She was in my belly buddies group with DS and I loved it straight away when she used it.

I am not sure. Is it meant to be pronounced the same as the name "Amelia"?

    I read it as E-mill-lia.

I think it is a little confusing IMO.

And she is in my baby buddy group - I love it too! Very pretty.

N2L, it's traditionally similar to Emily I think, the "eh" sound at the start anyway, so I'd say it eh-meal-ee-yah. ITMS!

    As opposed to ah-meal-ee-yah.

I love it, but I am biased as that is my DD's name ! I still pronounce it Amelia, but put emphasis on the Em. She occasionally gets called Emily as people mis read it.
That is the meaning behind my username. DS couldn't say Emilia and called her Lilima.

I love it too. It was a contender when we had DD.

Depends on how you want it pronounced? If it
Is suppose to be Amelia then I think you should spell it that way.

I rarely post in baby name threads, but saw this one and couldn't resist. I'm stuck (in a good way) on the name Emilia - in fact, if we'd had ... or do have ... a girl it would likely be the front-runner name. Love it, love it, love it.

Love it! If my boy had been a girl this time, that's what he was going to be called.

    Thanks for the comments...

It is to be pronounced with an "eh" at the begining (as in Emily).

I am stuck on it too.. IMO it has a more grown up / sophisticated feel to it then Emily and she is not likely to be the 5th Emilia in her class..

I love it - one of the characters in my favourite Shakespeare play (Othello) is Emilia and I've always associated it with that I think if it's pronounced the way it's spelled (ie, Eh-milia instead of Ah-melia) then it's all good Very pretty name, and traditional but also unique!

My Emilia does get called Amelia a lot of the time by people. It is really subtle on the E so people think you are saying A
