    Getting a little stuck...Boys names

    Hi Everyone,

DH and I are expecting another boy and are getting a little stuck on names. Our first DS's name is Zane (which we decided on really quickly and continue to LOVE his name) and our surname starting with H is quite unusual and long (You know, one of those ones where everyone asks how it's spelt and pronounced ) DH surfs and I'm a bit artie so we are looking for something not too common but not to over the top IYKWIM We both love the beach/ocean names so I guess we are drawn to them, Some of the names we have been throwing around are:

    Tyler
    Tyson
Tallen or Tallon (Thi is my LOVE name after hearing it on Laguna Beach but everyone has said they hate it, My Mum went as far as to say it reminds her of rat poison??)
    Kai
Finn ( I also love this but DH's nickname is Sharky so he is not keen and his response was "Oh Yeah because everyone wouldn't say "Sharky had a kid and called him Finn"")
Bohdie (DH LOVES this, but I'm not sure... very Point Break lol)
    Noah
    Archer/Archie

Haven't chosen a middle name and have no "must have" name for the middle one.

What are your thoughts...New names welcome these aren't the only ones we will consider, just getting a little stumped.

When you think of a "Surfie/Artie Fartie" name what is your first thought/s

    Thanks in advance

My faves are Bohdie,Tallen & Kai. Archie/Archer is so very popular and so is Tyler and Tyson but not quite so popular.

Well I do love the name Lennox We are from Byron Bay so we were going to go with Byron or Lennox. Both have beautiful beaches!

    Good luck

just going off your requirements i would think that Tyler, Noah are a bit too common now.
kai is a cool name and a bit surfer like!
    what about Jai/Jye?
    instead of Bohdi/ Brody/Brodie?
i like Taj atm we are trying to pick baby boy #3
    Kade/Caden
    Kyan
if you like the TY, but a bit less common than Tyler/Tyson my son is Tyron

    Tyler - I don't love it but I don't hate it either
Tyson - I love this one. I had it on my lisst but DH said no due to Mike Tyson.
Tallen or Tallon - I like this one. I don't think of rat poison. What about Tallis?
    Kai - Same as Tyler.
Finn - Cute. I'm not sure how I like it for an adult though.
Bohdie - I know one of these spelt differently though. He is the cutest little boy. So I like it
Noah - This is one I really don't like personally. It also seems to be really popular. There's nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't work for me.
Archer/Archie - Archer was in my top 2 if DD had been a boy but again DH said no. He said "you may as well call him Swordsmen". He wouldn't budge. I love it though. This is my pick from your list.

    Other suggestions
    Levi
    Jaxon
    Alex
    Seth
    Brady

when I think of beach/ocean names I think of Hawaiian names, such as Keanu and Kalani :-) there is more if you do a search :-) Tallon or Tallen probably reminds your mother of rat poison because there is a brand of rat poison called Talon.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Some of the names that have been suggested Jai/Jye, Jaxon, Byron, Levi and Seth I love but belong to little boys of friends of ours or relatives that we actually see. I love the name Kalani but I associate that with a girl name after a friend named her daughter that a few years ago.

Reef, Taj and Tyron, Brodie & Xavier are all growing on me the more I look at them the more I like them

DH loves Dexter but I can't help but think of the serial killer show

Also from the list I really like Max and Felix DH had a dog growing up called Max so that was a no go and when I said "What about Felix? he said "that was my cat!" Um pretty sure you never had a cat DH

Oh and thanks for clearing that up Shadow77, I have never heard of Talon rat poison?? So when Mum said that to me I thought "Wow she really hates it...considering she hates rats/mice" but never actually realized there was a product called that!!

I still Love it regardless but DH said to me last night that if we named bub Tallen/Tallon we would have to change Zane's name to Hercules or something similar so the boys names were in the same ball park

I think you have some awesome suggestions already. Tallon is the only one on your list that doesn't seem as common to me. I like it! Who cares about rat poison? Few people will know the brand.

    Some others I like:

    Banjo
    River
    Leaf
    Ferris
    Marvin
    Phoenix
    Pax

I love Noah, but maybe that's because 'The Notebook' is one of my fave all time movies.

And I also like Tyson. But i gotta say I really don't like Bohdie, to me it just sounds like a made up name. I have a friend that used this name, but I would never tell her how much I don't like the name!
