If I ever have another child and that child turns out to be a male, then I will be using three names for a similar reason; I always wanted Elliot Chase but then was informed by my partner of a family tradition with the middle name William so have adapted it to Elliot Chase William!

I think it is fine, personally and I love the names you have put together! Some people might think it is a bit long but how often do you really need to say your entire name? If you are happy with it then I would go for it definitely!

a friend of mine gave her boys 2 middle names, one being her surname, rather than hyphenating teir surname. 3 names is fine.

Both my DS and DD have two middle names.

    Angus Geoffrey Ian
    and
    Harriet Susan Louise

Geoffrey - DH's dad, Ian - my Dad, Susan - my Mum, Louise - DH's mum. So it's all very fair and even.

I really love my children's names now but DH and I would have the most outrageous arguments about it before they were even conceived!!! DH has two middle names and I think two middle names is ****y But clearly DH won this one.

Both my sons have two middle names, they are important male figures in out life
Hunter Harryjohn and Kainne Markandrew, we choose to have the names combined and use as one, Harry is my hubbys grandfather who was the only male in his life and is now passed, John is my grampy who has now passed, Mark is my dad, and Andrew is my hubbys middle and the name i would have called my first born who is now an angel.
I have an idea for the next baby if its a boy, but hubbys not that keen, lol.

So i say if u like it go for it.

All of my kids have 3 names

Nicholas Alexander Dean (Nicholas - we liked it, Alexander - family tradition, Dean - after his dad)
Angela Violet Jenny (Angela - again, we liked it! Violet - DP's grandmother, Jenny - after me!!)
Emily Sandra Clare (Emily - my maternal great grandmother, Sandra - DP's mums middle name, Clare - my mums middle name)

And the new addition will be

David Benjamin Dean (David - after DP's brother, Benjamin - after my brother, Dean - well after dad again! lol!!)

We like the concept of three names so we stuck with it

Elliot Chase William! Very cool name!

I think it's okay as long as you don't expect them to use all names for EVERYTHING!! it's a nice way to include family members or friends names. I knew a lady who had 5 girls - the first 1 she gave 3 names so felt she had to do the same with the next. The next 3 were triplets so she had to come up with 9 names!! Imagine remembering all that!

    We're Smiths too.

DH has three names, I have three names, DS has three names.

I have two middle names picked out for a second son and the daughter's name we like is three names.

Personally, I'd go with the three names.

I have not had any problems with forms (well aside from the fact two of my names have "funny" spellings even though I don't find them that amusing) for any of us. Only "problem" was DH's old bank would only use two initials on his cards. Our current bank uses all our name on the cards. The names aren't too long so will fit in just fine.

After 3 days of deliberating over our DD name we managed to come up with Sophie Victoria (Victoria being after the state i moved to, to be with my DP) then my last name as the 3rd name as we r not married and the fact we couldnt decide who's name should be first if we hypenated our last names. Then my DP's last name as her surname.

Abit complicated and unusual, but i like the fact that my last name will always be apart of her name whether she gets married or not

Glad you didn't move to the ACT... Sorry, I have a twisted humour...

My boy has 3 names : William Edwin John - and we call him 'Liam' for short - which gets constant questioning... Edwin was DH's grandfather and John is a traditional family name (and DH's Dad's name and DH's middle name). I've since found out that William is a traditional name in my family (but that's not why we chose it!).

If you like it and it makes you feel good - do it. As you can see - there are oodles of us out there!!

My husband and his father both have four names including their surname and i plan on continuing the tradition. I'm contemplating doing it for all our children. If the names sound nice together then go for it... when ppl just chuck names together that sound silly then i say don't bother.
