I've got it, it can't be shortened it's an actual name not too weird and it sounds nice with Arthur and the other boys names

    Quinn Arthur

I never wanted names that could be shortened either hence Rhys & Liam, but saying that we now extend their names

ie: Rhysy Roo & Liamy Leem

I have the same problem OP. Add to that DH doesn't like names that will be shortened like Benjamin, Thomas, Christopher etc. Drivers me batty.

I thought about Arthur as a first name but it was my grandpa's name and makes me think of an old man. I like it as a middle name but not add a first I don't think. So hard.

I've put some on a list to start a conversation with DH later on. So far I have
    Angus
    Rowan/Rohan
    Liam

We had so much trouble naming our 2nd boy! I liked heaps but DH disliked most of the names I came up with. Our first is named Peter, which we both love. We do shorten it to Pete occasionally but we mostly call him Peter. We get lots of comments on his name and so far we haven't come across any other little Peters. So that would be my suggestion!

We settled on Alex for our youngest. Other boy names we had were George, Sam, Viktor, John, William and Rowan.

I agree with Limeslice, DD's name is Emily & people try to shorten it to Emi. We just tell them not to. The only people who don't get it are my parents but we hardly see them anymore anyway.
