    Needing a boys name

Hi all, we are struggling to find a boys name we are happy with, just wanting to see what other ideas you ladies can come up with. Ideally we would like either a traditional/old fashioned or a bible name. Our other two children are Phoebe and Joseph (Joey), and before anyone suggests Chandler and Ross are out .

the middle name is likely to be reuben, its nickname already, we can't use as a first name, because we have friends with a baby girl ruby, and feel its too close

thanks ladies, thats a great start, sorry i added it after, but i love the name reuben its from the bible and means behold a son, we'll probably use it as a middle name, but feel its too close to our friends daughters name which is ruby and may be too much confusion. do you think we could shorten it to Ben if needed?

I think that would be fine. I don't think it's too close to Ruby at all IMO. If it means something to you, Why not use it? Ben is a great nickname.

You could shorten it to anything you like.
    Benjamin is nice too.
I do know a Reuben who gets Ruby so I see the similarity there.

    Good point Pandora.

I have Reuben picked out for DS2 (if we have one) & I was planning on shortening it to Rudy. Because Ruby is a girl's name so I would think he'd get picked on & one of our friends has a Ben (short for Benjamin). But I would shorten it to Ben if not for that.

    Elijah? Jesse?

I keep finding names i like, and then look up the meaning and find they are biblical names (which is not what i am looking for).

How about Samson or Soloman? I like both of those for a boy if we have one next and they are both biblical.
