Question ok need some help here

DH and I have started (only just) talking about baby names.

He is really stuck on one name which my mother ruined for me as it was on our list for when Nikita was born (another reason I don't want to use it).
I am stuck on one name which DH doesn't like but for me it "feels" right just the way Nikita felt right for her.

I am a very picky person, but AM open to peoples opinions and suggestions.

My only "little things" are I don't like names that don't have their own meaning for example Betty - a form of Elizabeth. Our surname is Staben (stay ben) so no first names ending in S or N it just sounds weird. Sorry I did say I was picky

Middle names I am not fussed about but if there are any suggestions there that would be great too.

ANy thoughts are very welcomed - BTW I know that when I see baby I may change my mind completely so this is a bit premature

Are you willing to let us know the names you and DH have picked out ??

On every thread asking for names i always throw Xanthe in there, i've really fallen inlove with that name!! Lol. Or Ella Staben ... Ella could come from a longer name tho.

Good luck with picking a name!!

I quite like Savannah Louise Staben, myself.

Xavianna (zay-vee-anna which means "bright") Louise Staben? Kinda mixes Sienna and Savannah together a bit.

    It's tricky, huh?

NaeNae - I am going to go against it all and suggest no S names... I am usually in the minority but I don't like same inital names ie S(firstname) S(surname) - my best friend however, loves doubles etc.

Are you set on an S name? If so, I will try and get over my anxiety about doubles (I really will try!!) and come up with some S names - there were many that I loved but as DPs surname is an S they all got automatically tossed out due to my little obsession - I sound like a nutter but I promise I am not

If you aren't set on an S name I will come back and post some other suggestions.

I prefer different initials for first and surnames but of the ones you have listed I prefer Savannah. I don't really like Shae and Sienna is a bit overused now.

I'm a bit funny about S and S too, but that's just me.

I think something with a meaning similar to Nikita's meaning would be nice.

I love Savannah, simply because you have said "it just feels right". Right now you have the closest connection to your bub and are best able to make that judgement LOL.

For middle names, I'm a big fan of middle names with a really strong meaning. For eg, DD1 has Sophia (meaning wisdom) and DD2 has Hope. For a while we debated over whether it should be Harmony or Hope, but in the end Hope won and it's been a really powerful reminder of the blessings in our life.

I wanted Savannah.... but my DF doesn't like it because he thinks it's a desert

I still love it, so i voted that one.

My Ex of many years named his DD " Shae " with his DP ...

I actually really like it too but not sure about Louise with it but " Shae Savannah " does sound very pretty, sounds almost like a song title

Hi Nae Nae, I love Savannah. Sienna is lovely as well, but I know of 4 baby girls with the name Sienna born in the last yr, so its getting a bit too popular for me. Good luck with deciding, so exciting for you now.
