Opinions and suggestions please

What do you all think of the name River for a boy? And any suggestions for a middle name for River?

We have two members with River's for boys... maybe more too, just two i know of.

I love the name River - but (and please don't hit me ) I don't think it goes with your other names, which are more classic names - River is much more.. um.. alternative.

Obviously I like it (even though we switched it to a middle name after Stell was born )

I kind of agree with Melly though; except that I think it fits with Lily and Charlie but not Orson. Still if you love it, use it! Its a great name, esp for a water baby

Yes i know. But i am trying to steer clear of traditional old fashioned names. I chose Lily cause i was young and couldn't be bothered thinking up something else. Charlie's was chosen because he didn't have a name and i regret it. He was orginally meant to be Roman. But i felt discouraged because my father said he hated it. So now i don't tell anyone IRL what names we have picked until they are born. And DH chose Orson and yeah it is old fashioned however no one i talk to has heard of it nor have i heard of another child called it. I really like alternative names and think seeing as this is my last child i should chose a name i really like instead of listening to other people's opinions. Anyway, off my soap box now, lol. For the record, Orson's middle name is Phoenix. That's pretty alternative IMO.

I like River, I will have to think of middle names that go with it though, it is a tricky one. I think it goes fine with your other names - you don't need to have a Leaf and a Rain to make it work .

FWIW I love the name Roman.
