Hi all,
Im hoping you guys can help me out with some suggestions. Hubby and i have VERY different ideas on names for our bub. He likes traditional and i like unusual. So what im looking for is a name that isnt completely weird or made up, but not a name that every second baby has. I also like longer names that can have a cute nickname, and pretty girl names and masculine boys names.
For example, the few ive suggested that he doesnt despise are Felicity, Harper and Finnley. Boys names are a bit harder - we both kind of like Thomas and Noah, but im not sold as i find them kind of common.
Middle name will be Michael for a boy or most likely Jane for a girl (family names). Our surname starts with S and has two syllables
Anyone have any suggestions?

I found a great girls name the other day, you'll never guess where
Keturah
Believe it or not, it's a Bible name! Keturah was the name of Abraham's second wife. So it's a little bit out there, but still traditional, coz it's in the Bible!

I know exactly what you mean ... we were the same in chosing ... that's why we chose out daughter's name - " Cendrine " ... it's unusual though not weird by any means but 'not' common ... it's a French name meaning Cinders ... she gets called mostly "Driney" or sometimes Cen for short
Kynan was my choice for a boy's name (but we had a little girl)![]()

Try looking at some names from either of your ethnic roots, maybe. I've found some that way that I really like and aren't too common.
Here's a few suggestions off the top of my head of names that I liked, but my DH wasn't wild about. Somebody should use 'em.
Girls:
Keziah (Bible name also, but uncommon - one of Job's daughters)
Talitha (Bible again - I think it's Aramaic for "little girl") BTW - I would pronounce it tah-LEETH-ah. You could also do TAH-lith-ah
Boys:
Jonas
Lane
Asher
Fraser
Peyton
Lauralie
Gabrielle
Savannah
Brooklyn
Campbell
Declan
Lincoln
Hudson
GL with choosing a name..
For girls - Libby, Abbey, Adelle, Sara, Loren, Caidy
Boys - Callum, Quinn, Kristian
I guess the list is endless but these came off the top of my head
When we named our son we were also looking for something traditional (with traditional spelling) but not common. We settled on Orlando and love it. Nickname Lando which is also kinda cool as in Lando in Starwars. We have another boy on the way and trying to find another name which fits the same criteria. It's great to see all the suggestions in this post! Goodluck.
