Hi, not long to go now!
I voted Lane, I recently met a guy with that name and liked it (and I would be put off by Carter the farter too lol)
Lane Nathaniel
Carter Nathaniel
We have narrowed our choices to two.
Sibling to Gerogia and Hamish.
We are split down the middle with this. I prefer Lane over Carter as Im concerned about the teasing of 'carter the farter' - LOL I know it's a minor thing but I still feel funny about it.
Also our surname ends in an 'er' sound, not sure Carter flows well enough !
Thanks, we are almost there and I truly appreciate the input we have had on here over the past months.

I'd go for Lane... but mainly cos I have a bit of an obsession with Layne from Alice in Chains... (RIP Layne)
I voted for Carter. I love coming up with nicknames, and didn't even think of Carter the Farter!! It thought of Carter Puterschmidt from Family Guy (Lois' Dad), and the character Noah Wyle played in ER - he was a Carter wasn't he?
But i think it is definately the better of the two names, IMO.
And we know a guy whose surname is Lane, and for as long as I've known him (14 years now), he has been known as Laney. Not a problem for him, or for anyone who knows him, but if you are telling a story about him to someone else, and mention his name, they all immediately think we are talking about a girl.
And people might think of Laine Beachley too, making them thenk of a girl.
In the end it doesn't really matter about the boy/girl name thing though. Our DD's name is actually an old boy's name, but just isn't common for boys, so when people ask us about her name, and we tell them it is a boys name, they don't really believe us, and reckon it is a pretty girls name
Good luck with deciding which one to go with!
I like Lane (: Goodluck ^^
Oh dear it's 50/50 - that isn't too helpful!
I like Carter, I think it goes well with Gerogia and Hamish.
I chose Carter. The only Lane I know is a little girl so to me Lane rings pink.
I do prefer Carter as a name, but after listening to it with a few "er" surnames, I voted for Lane. It flows better.
I voted for Carter, because all the Lane's I know are girls.
