Ok, so I was trying to keep bub's gender a secret but I'm having a name crisis so letting the cat out of the bag.
We're having a boy!!! Which is extremely exciting, but for the fact that at this stage he will be named 'baby' or 'Mr Bump' for the rest of his life. I picked DD's name. DH liked it, but didn't love it. It's grown on him and of course now he says he can't imagine her being named anything else. This time round, he gets to choose. I have the right of veto but am really doing my best to keep an open mind. Problem... nothing he has suggested so far really resonates with me at all.
Following is his extremely short list. It's like pulling teeth to get him to come up with anything, so this may be it. I'm hoping some friendly BB input might help me warm to one of them or completely rule out. Tell me what you think. HONESTLY - it's not like I'm particularly invested in any of them. Do they make you think of anything in particular. I won't lead you, but to me, one seems a bit 'bogany', another a bit geeky... Curious if others have the same associations.
Heath's nice. Max would probably be my favourite of the names. But I keep thinking of Prince Max from Insektors (you may need to youtube that if you're curious) and he was fab, so no worries there.
Haha TT and Winter, that's what I think about Devin too. But DH is Scottish so hasn't heard of the ham. That, or my brain hears it as a weird combination of devil and Kevin. Not good at all. That one's a complete veto really. Just left it in because without it there's only 3. ONLY THREE! C'monnnn DH, give me more to work with! My shortlist is 8. He doesn't like any of them.
I like Max the best too. Devin sounds too bogany to me or like the other name for Polony sliced meat - Devon roll. I like Owen & Heath, but I don't love them.
Congrats on the boy, I like Heath and Owen. I have Scottish friends who have a Niven, which is similar to Devin but nicer in my opinion. They also have a Roan, and an Innes. I really like Scottish names, and with our surname go well although no links to Scotland in family only Wales.
Max is the winner for me - a Max to me is a strong, kind soul and it does go with your surname and I like it with your DDs name too - they sound good together. Max means 'the greatest'
Heath - its ok, but I reckon it could grow on you
I don't mind Owen too, thats my #2 from your list
Devin - its just a little to quirky for my liking heheheehehe

The only one I'm not overly keen on is Owen.. Seems like an old name?
Devin is nice, but might be associated with devin sandwich meat.. There is a Sydney news reporter i am sure his name is devin and Always sounds good when he says his name at the end!
I really like max, Heath and Owen. I actually think they're really good suggestions from your dh!
We had a situation where I was allowed to name girls and dh was allowed to name boys. We ended up with 2 boys so dh got to name them both! Tbh, I didn't love either of the boys names before they were born, but dh was convinced and committed on them and wouldn't budge. I decided to 'go with the flow' and now their names have grown on me (and on them) lol. You've met my boys, and their names really suit them right?
I also get complimented quite a lot that their names are quite unique and you don't hear them around a lot iykwim?
So, I guess what I'm trying to say, is that even though you might not absolutely love a name, maybe you should just 'go with it' a little iykwim? Which one does your dh absolutely love?
I had Heath, Max & Owen on my boys name list My fave would be Owen but my DH didn't like it. DH's is Max. Max made it to the final 3 for DD had she been a boy. I think it's a nice strong manly name. I went off Heath after Heath Ledger died because of that association but I still like the name.
I don't mind Heath and Owen. They're not really *my* taste but I think they aren't too common and I like them
Devin- no way.
Max- I love the sound of the name but it's way to common for me. What about the Welsh name Macsen? I know a boy called that and he gets Max for short. It's the coolest name ever!
