I know this one isn't the same I had a hug-a-bub found it very awkward to get it on and off etc, the ABA cool sling holds bub in similiar position but uses adjustable straps so easy to pop on and even with a 8.5kg bub I can still walk around and have no back ache

I used the HAB for the first 6 months with DD and loved it.

I did not find it hard to put on at all. It comes with a DVD so i just watched that a few times. Then i practiced in front of the mirror a couple of times. The first time i put it on it was too loose. After that I knew how tight the straps had to be to hold her weight properly. I used it far more than the pram and also for her day naps. If going out in the car I used to put it on first but after a while i just put it on at my location as it really isn't complicated.

Getting baby out is easy as you just pull down the bits that go over your shoulders and lift baby out. Getting it off is as easy as undoing the knot, loosening it and I would just pull it down my body and step out of it.

Cannot comment on the Close Carrier as I have not seen one IRL and only looked at it online. I already had the HAB and would do so again as it is Australian (I think). It is not a bad idea to have two as you then have one to wear while the other is in the wash. I tried to convince my banker (lovely DH) of this but to no avail.

Having a HUB or Close is perfect for these first 6 months where they can be snuggled up close to your heart beat and warmth.

They are completely different in terms of how you use them, but essentially hold baby in the same position.

The HAB is a long piece of stretchy wrap. You can buy very similar material at Spolight and make your own, much cheaper.

The Close comes in two seperate pieces, one part slides over your head, the other then wraps around baby for extra support. The Close never touches the floor (one of my irrks when out and about with a little baby), but a wrap will. I have heard that sometimes people put the HAB on before they leave the house, but if you need to change nappy etc you need to take the whole thing off and wrap it up again. The Close you don't.

I have had both and would recommend the Close over the HAB, especially for a first time babywearer
