So Beco Gemini was my first soft structured carrier purchase, having previously used happily a mei tai, a close carrier and a jazsling. I bought it from the US without trying it on first.
And now I have a problem. The straps cut into my back fat I mean sort of under my arms at the side of my body, near where the strap attach to the carrier of the body. I also find that if I try to do a backpack style carry without the straps crossed, then the straps kind of buckle and don't sit flat. Plus the waist band padding extends on one side of the carrier more than the order and because I am so big the short side of padding only just goes to my hip.
Don't you just hate it when you think you'd found the perfect purchase, outlayed a fair amount of money and then are disappointed?
Has anyone else had a problem like this with their carrier?
I am thinking of looking at a manduca as they seem to have padding in the offending area but I definitely want to try one on first - are they sold in IRL stores?
I believe there are some IRL stores that sell manducas. Tinokislings is an online store that offers trials of carriers before you buy. I'll pm you with the link.
