    I did it!!!

I finally got my act togeher and mde up my first mei tai, and it is sensational to BF my 2 month old in!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried everything to get bf and baby wearing happening together...the close, which I LOVE for long periods of wearing and for settling, the ergo, which he is not quite big enough for and the infant insert is too hot in this weather, the ring sling which didn't work as he dosn't like the cradle hold position... And with all of them my boobs kept getting in the way... not so good when trying to BF.

So I finally had time to make up the mei tai with fabric I bought months ago, using the baby ball overall pattern from Jan Andreas site, and we have managed to get a successful feed in!!! I had great access to my boobs and was able to get in good positioning and DS latched on and fed well and I was hands free!!!!!

I spent last night thinking of ways to improve it, including snap on hood for privacy and a few other ideas like that. What do you think?????

I think I have a baby wearing addiction......... !!!!!!!!!!!!!! xo

Ruf, that's the one I made too! I love it and I still wear it with Nate - never tried to feed in it though - WTG!

I agree about the hood though. I had thought of that but lacked the drafting skills to put the idea into practice. i tried a few things.

Kim, I am going to try and use the shape from my ergo hood and see if I can adapt that... but I need to wait to next Wed when DS1 is in day care so I have time and space to try. Will let you know how I go...

That's awesome Ruf! I struggle to feed DD in the ergo (but had no probs with DS). You've inspired me to try to make one as well now because DD is a frequent feeder and when not feeding just wants to be held.

Cool, will be keen to see what you come up with....I thought it could also do with a bit of stiffening at the top - so maybe the hood would help with that.
