I just googled the mei tai as I haven't seen or heard of one before and it does look kind of awkward especially for a newborn who can't hold themselves up. I have an Ergo Baby carrier with an infant insert and it's great. I actually went on the recommendation from my osteopath as apparently the ergo is the best for your back and shoulders as most of the weight is on the hips.
