We have just started experimenting with getting DS into the Ergo in a back carry (he's not 6 months yet but has pretty good head control, so I've just been practising at home).
I noticed how much comfier it is- yay!
One thing I was wondering though was when your bub is in a back carry, how do you know how they are feeling? You can't see their face, unless you keep checking yourself out in the mirror We went for a quick walk today to try it out but I made sure DP was with me so she could watch him and see how he was going.
Do you just learn after a while to "read" their body without actually seeing it? Or did you find this was a drawback of the backcarry?
Also did your baby like the back carry or did they feel further apart from you?
I guess I am used to being able to see his face, tell when he is hungry or tired by the way he nuzzles me, see what he is looking at and talk to him about what we can see, and see his reactions...
