When did you stop using the Infant Insert for your Ergo

Am about to try DD without it, I can position her legs out of the carrier comfortably (I think). DD has good head control so I 'think' she is ready for me to ditch the insert

What age/height/weight did you stop using the insert?

I tried without it the first time when Miss A was almost 3 months old - she would have been about 5.4kgs and 60cm or so. She was ok for a short period of time but I think even though she had really good head control she seemed to get a bit tired and cranky. Stopped using it completely by 4 months and now she's fine in it but still seems to prefer the ring sling.

I used it with DD at 3 months. They need to be big enough to sit comfortably legs out - so knees out, otherwise the legs will just stick straight out at the sides.

I think I stopped using it around 4 months. My DD isn't that heavy - she's only clocked 6kg around the 5 month mark, but she's long. I gave the insert to a friend who was due to have her third bub, so I could have used it for a bit longer.

We hardly used the insert with the Ergo cos DD hated it with a passion. She was about 5.5 months when she went into the Ergo on its own - prob 5.8 kgs and 63 cms. She loves the Ergo now

I put her in it today without the insert but with the little cushion from the insert, it worked a treat
