My near 11 mth old seems like she is heading towards only 1 sleep a day, however, I'm not sure what the day would like eg. when is lunch and her sleep? Just wondering what others do?
My DS decided he only needed one sleep a day when he was 13 months old. Our routine is like this:
He normally wakes around 6-7am
Breakfast about 1/2 after he gets up
Morning tea/lunch at about 11am
Bottle before bed
Sleep from about 12.30-2.30
Snack when he wakes up
Dinner around 5.30
Bath at about 7-7.30
Bottle and bed at 7.45-8pm
DS has only just dropped down to one sleep a day, and because he wakes early (6am) his day sleep is at 11.30. So lunch time is a problem for us cos he usually sleeps right through it!!!
However, he has breakfast and milk when he wakes up in the morning, then a bunch of fruit at 9am, then a sippy cup of milk and a biscuit (or something similar) before going down for his nap - then when he wakes up (can be anywhere from 1.5hrs to 3 hrs) then I usually try him on a sanga, but he doesn't usually want it, and will be happy with more fruit, sultanas, rice cakes, yoghurt. He's a bit of a snacker during the day, then has his vegies at nighttime.
Hope thats a bit helpful...
DS went to a single sleep when he turned 1 or so. Our schedule is:
7.30am - wakes up
8.00am - breakfast & milk bottle
10.00am - morning tea
11.15am (or so) - lunch
12.00pm - nap & milk bottle (can be between 45 mins to 3 hrs depending on activities in the morning)
3.00pm - afternoon tea
6.00pm - dinner (is late as I try to make sure DH is home as well and he usually arrives home from work around 5.45pm)
7.30pm - start wind-down (so reading a book, quiet play etc)
8.00pm - bath/shower
8.30pm - bed & milk bottle
Ours is pretty much the same, he has lunch at about 12ish then goes to bed about half hour later, he normally sleeps around the 3 hour mark, then wakes and has afternoon tea. DS went to 1 sleep at around 10 months
