First, I think you should see a dr, he could have an ear infection from teething which could make him behave like that.

The only advice I can give you is to ignore the tantrums. I used to gently take my kids by the hand and lead them to another room in the house and tell them they were welcome to have their little tanty but they had to do it here. They didn't last long once they figured out they weren't getting a reaction.
