1st Birthday presents

My DS has heaps of toys already, but people are asking me what to get him for his first birthday. I'm looking for ideas of things to suggest to people that cost less than $30.

Any ideas?

Character dinner set e.g elmo, toy story etc
Picture books
Rash shirt
Cancer council sun hat
Fun height chart he can put in his room, you can record growth.

Thats all i can think of for now.....

how about some music cds like the wiggles songs or something like that. or perhaps a xylophone (sp?) or some bongo drums that he can roll and play with.

I thought of books & clothes too I have told a couple of people that.

I like the CD & sun-safety ideas! He need a good hat. Dinnerware is a good idea too - I wouldn't have thought of that

Musical instruments, books, crayons, wire abacus toys...mmm can't think of anything else right now!
