My bub is 15 weeks old, and is no longer poohing every day. She went one stint without poohing for 3 days (and the end result was what we affectionately call "tsunami poohnami"), and now it has been 5 days since that one! She is BF except for the formula bottle she gets at night.
She is not uncomfortable, is very happy, she is sleeping through still, and farting like a champion! Is it just her bowel habits starting to settle down? Did anyone else have this experience? I know soley BF babies can go weeks without poohing, but she gets formula at night...so she's not soley BF...
Just wait it out & if she seems uncomfy offer some cooled boiled water, other wise just proceed with caution as it will no doubt be another 'Tsunami Poohnami!"
He is 10 months old and still does one big poo a day - usually in the morning but the last few days it has been an afternoon or evening event.
When he was a newborn/infant he would poo after every feed and would also often be awakened at approximately 1am with a very loud (out of nowhere) poo! :P
As long as the poo is normal consistency when it does occur, and the baby doesn't seem unhappy or uncomfortable, then try not to worry - and just be ready for the mess when it does come!
Ryan did the same he would poo 4 - 5 times a day in the begining then at around 12 weeks just didn't go for 7 days and wow on that 7th day the flood gates opened i was like OMG this can't be good and he was then a 7 days poo machine then when he was 5.5 months old went back to once day the MCHN assured me it was fine for a BF baby to go up to 10 days without pooing as they use every bit of milk they ingest where as FF bubs apparently don't and they need to poo more often
