I am supposed to be taking my 3 year old and 14 month old to the wiggles concert. I'm now thinking its not really going to work out for my 14 month old. The reason being he does not stand still.... from the moment he gets up in the morning he is walking around, running, climbing, more walking, more running. I have had to baracade my home so that he is confined to one large open area otherwise he would be running and climbing all over the house, literally. He doesn't even sit still to watch tv. I have had to teach him to sit in a chair to eat but even that is a constant battle, and he still gets up, walks off and comes back and sits to eat, repeat cycle. He is the polar opposite of my first.
So i cannot see how i'll be able to take him to the concert? how is he going to stay in the one spot? He won't sit in a pram or a carrier either. And if i try the harness he will just fall to the floor and thrash around until i take it off.
So how's it supposed to work?? I can't chase after him at this type of thing, plus my 3 year old is very sensitive and will be upset if i spend the whole time trying to confine the baby.
I am taking DS to wiggles and when we go he will be 17 months old, we are going with a friend with a 3 and 1/2 yr old and 23 month old and another friend with 3 year old and 1 year old and another with 2 and 1/2 year old and 6 month old!
Prams can not be taken in to arena where we are going, I am also not sure how I will keep DS still and I will be 8 months preg also!!!!!
Sorry no real help for you am I just so you know you are not only one working how this will work!
Can you get someone to look after DS2 so that you can have some alone time with DS1? That way you and DS1 would have some good quality time together and it would be a special thing for him?
Excluding that, most of the kids tend to get up in their seats and jump and dance about - would that appease DS2's need for movement?
I'm going to say that if that was me I would rather not go....speaking from experience with a son that never sat still until recently. I think it would be a nightmare to be stressed the entire time & not enjoy yourself, not to mention waste of $$$ if you didn't enjoy yourself. I took DS to the wiggles last Christmas, he was 20months........he was not bad for some but it was long & he was over it half way through. We were lucky we had seats at the end of a row so he could run back & forth. But have you been to a concert before? they are nuts like any other. There is no way of knowing you will even get seats close by or near the dance floor so he can go nuts. They sell seats right up high.....& jam you in. If you had to keep going after him that could also annoy those your jammed in with IYKWIM. No prams are allowed either. Sorry that's just my thoughts....HTH.
