    snack ideas

    My son is 14 months old, and every day his food consists of;
breakfast - 2 weetbix and honey
    morning tea - custard
lunch - 1 and a half nutella sandwiches minus crust
afternoon tea - pureed fruit and a bottle
    dinner - whatever we have
    before bed - bottle

I want to try him on new foods, but don't really know wheer to begin. He isn't interested in self-feeding and this also makes things harder. plus, we are away from the house a lot so I need things that are able to be pre-prepared.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
Also, any ideas how to get hikm to drink anything other than milk? He won't take even his milk from a cup or straw, and if the bottle isn't white then he refuses to take it too.

My little one likes things like cubes of cheese, strawberries, thin slices of apple, watermelon cubes, pasta spirals. He is a bit older and does feed himself fingerfood though so it makes it quite easy.

He has also had water from a sipper cup since he was about 13 months old and more recently from a cup with straw. I don't give him juices or anything like that as I don't like him to have too much sugar in his diet.

Archie eats almost everyting and anything!

    Some snacks he has is

    crumpets with honey or jam
    vegemite and cheese slice sanga
    dry cruskits
chopped up fruit - strawberries, grapes tomatoes sultanas raisins kiwi banana
    yogurt
    custard
jelly with tinned fruit in it
    cheese sticks
    cheese and bacon muffin
    museli bar
    rice crakers
    tuna pasta bake
tacos and burritos (his fav dinner as he can pick what he eats and how much he eats)

when he was just starting on different foods i found large pasta spirals with a little bit of pasta sauce or tomato sauce was good. i was quite stressed over what to give him when he first started but all the suggestions on here really helped me.

Regarding the bottle of milk, have you tried giving him a drink of water out of your cup? It is messy but Archie loves to have a 'big' drink.

GL i hope he stops being fussy very soon.

I was going to suggest a jelly too - you can make a gel from diluted fruit juice and a little gelatine.
What about english muffins or crumpits? Cruskits and milk arrowroot biccies?
With the drink thing, maybe just keep offering the cup - even if its just a play-thing at first (that's all it is most of the time for Natty) at least they get used to it and know there's liquid in it for when they get thirsty? (Sorry - my DD is much littler than your little one, so I've not got any first-hand experience for you...)
