Agressive Behaviour in 14mth old - I am on my knees and need some help

Hmmm reading this thread with lots of interest. We too have some problems at the moment with DD getting frustrated at us alot and screaming at us alot :( like today.... it was a really long day. Very exhausting and I was totally ready to hand her over to someone else!!!! :wall:
She eats ALOT of grapes..... hmmmm..... off to research. No more grapes here then.
We are starting baby sign language because we feel perhaps she is so frustrated she cant' communicate with us? she says lots of words etc and very good with sounds etc but perhaps she's just frustrated with not being able to express herself further just yet? Perhaps this is the case with your DD too.
We too, have alot of sleep issues here... waking 3-4 times a night.

Shanti - I thought the same thing here with the sign lanuage. Last night - no grapes before bed and we got 12 hours straight sleep out of her, I still didnt sleep properly because I was expecting her to wake up but nope, slept like a log. Today no grapes either or food with 160b (e.g. cheese slices) in it and it is like I have a different child, like my little girl used to be. The 160b is linked to head butting, which she has been doing, just smashes her head against concrete walls etc when she is frustrated. Also no biting today.
It is very much worth cutting out grapes and seeing if it may affect your little one. Its the salicylate in them and also present in other fruit and vegies that is why grapes affect people, do a google search and some interesting info comes up.

Exactly!! :( DD loves grapes! and cheese....

Yep my DD too and they were such a quick and easy snack.

I just checked the tasty block of cheese we give DD (we cut it into pieces and shapes for her) and that doesn't seem to contain any preservatives etc unlike the cheese single slices do. She rarely has the cheese slices. We eat those though and perhaps she could be getting it thru my breastmilk.... *sigh*

I am wondering about block cheese also, need to do some more reasearch on that one. Maybe I will just give her some once a day in a couple of weeks and see if I notice any change in her behaviour.

The salicylates are definantly passed through breastmilk.

Hooray! Great news! The other one is saltanas for us. Dd loves them but I give her them sparingly.
