Question My Baby sleeps 18 hours in 24

My Bub is 20 weeks and sleeps about 18 hours in a 24 hour period. I'm worried this is too much sleep and something is wrong?
Does anyone elses bubs sleep this much?

Well today for example she was up at 6am and then is awake for about an hour then up again at 10 and usually up for 2 hours then asleep for 2 hours til 2pm. She then wnet back to sleep at 3 then awake at 5 and is now back asleep (just about its 6.30pm) We will then feed her at 10pm sometimes she stays asleep for the feed sometime she wakes up but will be back asleep within half an hour to an hour.

In her awake time she is active, playful and happy.

Mine would do that as well, I dont know if it's too much a 4 months, I never thought it was, sleep is very important at that age.
    Is Emily sleeping 12hrs overnight?

**ETA*** that sounds normal to me & much the same as my 5 had done.

just thought i would let you know my 6month old sleeps that much i am not concernd.

Today, feed at 5 back to sleep by 530. awake at 745feed, play feed and in bed by 930. awake at 1030play feed play feed sleep at 130 woke at 530 back in bedat 7 and will wake her for a feed at around 10 as she wnet down at 7. so very similar. So I would not worry. If bub needs to sleep she needs to sleep.

Thanks for the reasurance ladies, I had just read something that said they should be asleep for no more than 14 hours at her age and I panicked a bit. I should stop reading!

Storm- If we didn't wake Emily to feed her at 10 she would sleep 12 hours overnight but I think she still needs that feed.
