another sleep related question!

Ok i need real advice here.

What do you do in the MIDDLE of the night when your baby is wide awake making very loud noises.

No matter what I did last night he would not go to sleep. My eyes were burning and I was beside myself for 2 hours until he FINALLY fell asleep

as in very loud noises you don't mean crying, do you??

if he isn't upset but just enjoy having a chat in the middle of the night then maybe its time to move him to his own room? Archie started keeping us awake when he was 6weeks old, DH wasn't ready to move him out of our room but we did and we all (including DS) got much better sleep.

Just a suggestion, you may not feel ready to move him yet

Mason is still young,while Laila was sleeping through at 6 weeks some bubs dont till 8 weeks or so.

If I was absolutely zonked and Tallon was awake, I'd strap him to me in the hugabub and recline in the rocking chair and sleep. No fear of him falling off and he'd eventually sleep too

With Jovie we pop her back into the cot & let her chat while we lay there comatose. She does it rarely but we have the cot next to the bed with one side off, so I usually roll towards her with my arm next to her and sometimes I fall asleep & wake up to find her asleep, or she will get cranky after a while & I will then get up & rock her or pop her in bed next to me.

Danni I had to put Angus in his own room when he was 2 weeks because I simply couldn't sleep with all his chit chattering

Id generally pick him up, feed him and hed pop back off to sleep.

Yeh if theyre not crying, just put him back in his cot/cradle. Jesse always talks to himself in there but then falls back to sleep. He was only in our room for the first 2 nights as he made too much noise and kept us awake. Like Sammi said, if he's just making noises and not crying for you, why dont you try just putting him in his room?

ok sort of chatting...then it gets louder and louder and then he cries. almost like a whinging to start off with?

Last night I was at my wits end. So I put him in my carrier, strapped him in and laid down in bed (propped up with pillows). He eventually fell asleep. Is this ok? i barely got any sleep for worrying about him though

I mean I slept with him in my safari carrier on my chest.

yeah its not a HAB cos i still havent worked out how to use that properly, but same concept.

Yup, good on you Danni - do whatever works for you! For us, we had to move Natalie into her own room early on because all she had to do was snuffle in her sleep and I'd wake up!!! Even in her own room I still hear her if she's awake - last night she was wide awake in her cot for ages just talking and carrying on after feeding.
Hopefully he'll change his pattern soon so you can get a bit more rest.

OK! he did it last night again. from 11:30pm to 1:30am. I was just strapping on my carrier as he shut his eyes and passed out! yay!

I would either try burping Josh, give him another bottle, and if all else fails i would rock him in his bouncer!
