Wow Sue has so much info! Thanks girls for suggesting her to me, very interesting what she has to say.

There seems to be alot of additives to avoid, even things like vegemite are apparently not all that good. So what do you all do, do you just try to avoid a few??? By eliminating a select few do you notice a difference or do you need to go hard core and follow her rules strictly?
I think as well, that it depends on the child as to which additives etc set them off the most so it be trial and error till you work out which ones are the worst for your child.

I haven't noticed it much with DD yet, although I'm quite careful with what she can and can't have. Although, for ease of use, I've been buying Heinz little kids range of snacks - they do things like muesli bars, and fruit and bran bars, and they seem ok for her - I've got a feeling that they're promoted as no additives/preservatives. I also remember a dietician saying that food for infants is quite heavily regulated so they can't put too much of the bad stuff in.

i have looked at the fail safe today for the first time in an effort to make better choices , we have 50/50 custody of my partners child and for various reasons whilst hes not in our care he gets filled up on quick n easy foods . about day 3 into our time with him hes a very different child not perfect but different and thats just removal of sugar and bread . im looking forward to the results with eliminating dried & fresh fruits
