Are you talking about Baby shows held at shopping centres - or competitions in magazines????
There is a baby comp held at our local shopping centre every 6 months.
I put my DS in at 6 months and he won 2 trophies and 3 sashes.
And I did it again when he turned 1 and he won two sashes.
I think they try to spread out the prizes... although sometimes particularly cute kids do scoop quite a few.
It can add up in costs if you enter lots of categories. Each category costs from $2 to $5... but there are about 30 categories (cutest smile, cutest eyes, daddy's boy/girl, mummies boy/girl.... blah blah).
It can also be a long day. To find out the grand winner (of the huge trophies) you have to stay to the very end. So if you go, take toys, food etc. if you have a toddler. And make sure your baby can sleep in a pram if they are young.
It's just for fun... and the money goes towards a charity.
I don't think I'll bother doing it again. But I don't regret doing it for the two times I did it.
yes I took Mason to a small baby show in our town when he was 2 weeks old and he won 3 trophies and 2 sashes. We just got a letter in the mail asking us to go to a big one where he is automatically entered for the grand champion prize. Cant wait
I started putting Jess in when she was a baby and won, however I did not like the attitude around them and the *****iness that I heard. After the two she was in I decided to not do it again. All babies are beautiful in my opinion.
