    baby hammocks

just wondering from the mummies who have used a baby hammock for their baby, what did you think of them?

When we finally conceive #2 I would like to give the baby hammock a go, but i'm not sure if it would be worth it or not.

so what did you like and what didn't you like about your baby hammock and what brand did you buy?

    thanks

DD wasn't a fan. i know of lots of babies that love them and sleep well - but she prefers a solid bed. she ended up sleeping in the bassinette on her pram for a few months before transitioning to her cot. i love the idea - but some bubbas don't like them. so i'm not getting ready to finish putting DD's in storage for a while til we decide whether to sell or not. we're using the frame for the jolly jumper at the moment....

I hsve a babyQ, we got it when N was 4 months old. Wish we'd had it all along, he slept so well in it. Then one day at 6 monthold he just decided he was never getting in it again. So now I have a nearly brand new hammock sitting in the unused nursery lol. Guess I'd better get my finger out and sell t.

I have an Amby baby hammock and it was brilliant for DS1, but DS2 hated it. DD currently uses it for her day naps and it works well.

There is a thread dedicated to hammocks here: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...mocks-2-a.html

ok thanks ladies for your replies. After I posted I just thought about the angel care monitor, I wouldn't be able to use it in a hammock so its probably not going to be any good for us if I wasn't so paranoid about the whole sids thing, then i prob wouldn't mind not being able to use the monitor.

We bought a Hushamok hammock a week ago hoping it might help to settle DD for day sleeps (she has silent reflux too) and it has worked a treat!! She went from only sleeping in the sling for day sleeps (or not sleeping much at all during the day!) to doing 3 hour sleeps in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon!! My DH and I were shocked. Money well spent for us! We'll be using it for our next baby from birth

I have an Amby and both Oskar and Elijah loved it!! They both slept really well in it. Regarding the monitor, according to Amby they have never had a SIDS death?? I'm not sure why/how this would be but that is what is stated on their website. I had the hammock next to me in our room, so I don't know if you can do that and if would ease your mind or not.
