After some reassurance here - or something!
My baby son is 9 months - he'll be 9.5 months on the 14th March and he doesn't babble![]()
He smiles and laughs and crawls and wants to climb on things and he'll make noises, but nothing that resembles a vowel, or constonant - like dadada, mamama or badeebadeebadee. Sometimes there may be one 'duh' but thats it in terms of a constonant type sound. So I'm getting worried.
My mum in law says don't panic - be patient and the CHN says as long as he isn't making monotonal slurs then not to do anything until 12 months.
I'm telling myself that he has been putting his efforts into his motor skill development, but I can't help but worry.
I've done things to test whether his hearing may not be good but he responds when I call him or when I clap or click my fingers behind his back. He looks me in the eyes when I pick him up or talk to him and he looks at others as well.
So.....I guess I am after reassurance so I can stop stressing!
