    Babywearing in summer.

I'm on the hunt for the coolest carrier for a newborn - 3 months for summer and would love suggestions. We already have an Ergo, Close Carrier and Kleinsmekker mei tai, but they are all either fairly structured or just too warm. We don't drive, so it needs to be something baby could be comfortable in for walks (train station 15 min walk), public transport etc. My preference is for a mei tai, I loved it with DD when she was little, but not sure if there are materials cool enough. Any suggestions for brands etc that are great summer carriers?

Could you get something with solarveil (sv) bamberoo do them you could probably get a custom from bamberoo OC pretty easily.

A ring sling would be cool enough, or any of the thinner cotton woven wraps.
Ellevill do a gorgeous paisley woven in bamboo which is lovely.

OK summer and heat I know about.

After lots of research I went for a Sakura Bloom linen ring sling. Has been fantastic. Still using it most days at nearly 7 months old.

I did make a couple of mei tais in linen too (strong and cool) but sadly gave them away or I would have offered you one.

Linen is fabulous for heat, but try and go for secondhand that is very well broken in and soft. The rough, new linen can be a bit harsh for newborns.

Awesome tip Lime! Thanks! Another reason I love second hand I actually really like the Sakura! I also love the idea of a mei tai with solar veil. Both? Lol.

i am intetested too. I find we got hot and sweaty in winter!!.
strange for me i would have thought cotton would be thinner than linen. but i believe you girls over me anyday when it comes to wraps.

well, when it's hot, you'll be hot regardless. The less fabric there is, the *somewhat* cooler you'll be.
I'd look at linen in wraps and slings, as you can get a lot more support for less weight. I've not tried an SV SSC, so don't know how much cooler they are? Certainly you'd need to try at least 2 different things.... maybe 6.

Solarveil mei tai. Without question. Mine is a Melkaj, but I do alo like the look of the Bamberoos.

DD was born at the start of Brissy summer, and would only sleep in a carrier. I dreaded sleep times until the day that thing arrived.

Audax - I had a SV MT and it was awful. It was hard and scratchy. Very diggy too. Are they all like that or was I unlucky?

Dunno, haven't tried them all! But mine is not, it's silky and lovely. And appliquéd with butterflies.

Was it sv all over or just a panel with cord straps?

There is an email contact for bamberoo oc which is the old continent version of bamberoo same pattern etc bad a custom from them is pretty quick. Mine took about 2 weeks
