As in, he is three with the attitude of a teenager!

He has been screeching for the last half an hour because daddy, heaven forbid, spoke to him. He yelled in a nasty voice "don't talk to me" so I asked him to apologise & speak in a nice voice, as you do. Nup didn't want to. He was then sent to sit in the library on his own until he can speak nicely. So what does he do? Screeeeeeam "MUMMY" in a high pitched screech over & over.

I am sooo not losing this battle of wills. When he calms down we wil discuss the matter & HE WILL APOLOGISE.

So yeah, anyone want him?!

LOL, my neice just came for a visit and gave me a similar insight into life with a 3 year old.

Oh we have these battles every day at the moment, and unfortunately with me being tired and sick the last couple of days, he is pushing my buttons badly. But yeah, you only have to look at him or what he's doing, "don't look at me" "don't look at it" "go mummy".

I feel a bit bad, with the "go away mummy", lately I've been saying" ok I'll go". I pick up my bag & keys, pick up Kayla and go out the front door. He FLIPS. i let him freak for a bit then go back in and ask him if he really wanted mummy to go. No, he didn't. So I asked him not to tell me to go away anymore. He still says it (habit I think.. just something he says when he's upset about something) and I ask him now, do you really want me to go? Shuts him up LOL. Trying to get him to realise what he's actually saying to people.

*sigh*.

Anyway.. i know exactly what you mean about the battle of wills. Sometimes I have to stop the vicious cycle or we'd fight all day. So I try and put him in a position where he'll do something good and I can praise him for a change! LOL.

It's a tough gig this toddler parenting! Love the "threenager" tho.. gonna steal that one

no thanks, but you get my sympathy - Darcy lost it last night because she wanted to go to work with her father.....
and I'm rarely her friend anymore...but hey in my line of work you get used to that lol.

I have one of them also. He really pushes my buttons, i can't believe he acts like a 15 year old with PMS. If anyone find out how to deal with them, please let me know.

Mine likes to say "don't believe it", and "go away" to people...

I'm currently hiding in the study from mine i can't believe i'm hiding from my child.

I would.. but I already have one and he doesn't like to share the title..
we went to a birthday party today and I followed him upstairs to make sure he didn't trash the place.. he screamed at me "Go away from me Mummy! I never! I never want you talking to me!" and then tried to push me down the stairs..

I felt horrible since he is usually good when he's not at home.

At home if we tell him not to do something and he doesn't like it he will tell me off and then storm off and slam his bedroom door.. and then he comes back later and gives me a commentary on what happened "you told me no, I did scream, I did walk down the hallway.. I did slam the door and cry, and you did not come for me!" lol

No thanks hun. I have one of my own - just a month older than yours LOL! He is starting kindy tomorrow but I swear in some ways he's like a teenager about to start high school LOL.

Awww this thread is making me laugh and almost cry at the same time.. Laugh because I can't believe these things come out of their mouths and cry because I have an 18month old and obviously have all of this to look forward to
