    Blood in runny nose...

    Hi!

Louis has a cold and when I wiped his nose this morning there was a little bit of blood in his snot....Is this ok or should I take him to the dr??
It wasn't like a blood nose or anything but it has made me worry a bit....

    Thanks!

It could just be a small cut inside his nose. Keep an eye on it. If it gets any worse take him to the gp for a quick check up

Could be from the dry cold air as well, irritating his nasal membranes.
I find DD gets this sometimes when the weather is really cold.

Zander had the same problem last time he had a cold too. We put it down to him have a blocked nose & rubbing it constantly which irritated it.

My DS is a chronic nosebleeder (if there is such a thing, LOL). I would also say that its either due to little fingers going up there because its feeling irritated, or from the dry air, or constant rubbing etc.

It could be that a little bit of booger got a bit crusty and has irritated his nose. The capillaries inside the nose are extremely fragile and the slightest bump can cause them to bleed. The blood probably looks worse too because it may be diluted by the boogers. I wouldn't be too concerned.
