Really? I keep thinking I should be trying to get her to have two naps a day but the last week or so she hasn't been interested in an afternoon nap at all. I guess I should be led by DD more than what I think she should have. Ah, it's all a learning experience....
My DS is the same. I put him in the cot for a "rest" in the afternoon. He has his rest, then gets up after about an hr. He is only having 1 hr sleep in the morning, but that is all I can get him to do. He does sleep all night though.
I know of quite a few babies that age who only have one sleep. DS some days only has one as well. I wouldnt be too concerned unless your DD is becoming really really ratty and unmanageable in the late afternoons - then I might try to force her down.
Hmm, today DD travelled quite well til 5pm after which she became a little ratty though she bounced back after her bath time and fed to sleep at 6.15...she doesn't sleep through yet though. When I tried to see if she'd have an afternoon nap she bounced up and down holding onto the side of the cot and then threw her kaloo bear onto the floor so we ended up having a play instead.
My little man is funny... he will sleep only once when he is at day care but on the weekends if we are just around the house he demands that he has 2 sleeps in the day... must be all the excitement at day care and then being relaxed at home on the weekends...
Funny little humans they are
When we just had Olivia she had 2 days sleeps till she was 17 months, LOL!
Then Charlie came along and we all just found it easier to get him onto one sleep as asap....by 10 months he was on just one sleep, but he topped himself up at weekends and was /is a frequent car cat napper, bless him.
Lexie, she sleeps where ever we are, so she is still having 2 sleeps.........she naps when we are out and about, then has another big sleep at home.
They are all different........just go with what feels right for her.........if she is not wanting or needing that 2nd sleep, I'd say maybe try giving her an early lunch and then a long after lunch sleep?
