What weight and age were your kids when you turned them?
Chelsea was 10 months and only around 8kg....now i think about it...i should have left her...but Jasmine was coming a month later and i didnt want to have another seat installed rear facing when there already was one.....
So we had Chelsea's new seat installed forward facing.
Jasmine in now 10 months and probably around 10kg (who knows...she grows so fast) and dont want her turned yet...there is no need.
DS is almost 16 months, weighs 10.5kgs, and he's still facing the rear. His seat allows rear facing until 12 kgs, so that's when we'll turn him. I feel much better with him rear facing.
My mum has a seat for him (she looks after him two days a week for me), and when I checked it recently I found that it only goes to 10kg, so she's had it turned around. She's not very happy about that, but I thought it best to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Janie does DS mind still rear facing....i couldnt imagine Chelsea at that age liking it....where does he put his legs???
Sorry probably dumb question but i know looking at Jasmine now (and she is only 10 months), her legs are looking a bit squishy cos she is really long and they spend most car trips in the air..LOL
I think DS we turned at about 9 months? (can't really remember). He's probalby only 12kg now.. so really could have been rear facing all this time LOL.
DD is still rear facing, and will stay that way as long as possible. It's quite good coz DS is right next to her, so they can see each other, so I don't think she'll mind facing that way for a while yet.
DS is fine with it, he loves just staring out the window LOL. I was worried that he would hate it after being in mum's car, but he's still a bit freaked out by facing the front in hers I think LOL. I'm aware that could change soon, we'll just deal with it as it comes. His legs are starting to get near the actual seat, but they're not cramped yet. And I've heard it's better to have cramped legs than a broken neck! (Sorry to be crass).
We had to change DS at 7 months because he was 11.5kg (seat max is 12kg). He freaked out for the first couple of days, but is happy facing forwards now.
