Cleaning cradle mattress core??

I have a Boori Cradle and the mattress has become a bit smelly from DD sweating and dribbling while she sleeps. I have removed the cover and soaked/washed that separately but the actual foam core needs a wash and I'm unsure how to clean it thoroughly. Luckily I have a second mattress so I'm using the spare one for the time being.

Anyone know the best way to clean and sanitize the foam mattress core?

Put it in the sun.

I would give it a wash with just water and pop it in the sun. Works with nappies.
