Safety gates

Does anyone know of a brand of safety gate that doesn't take up much room? We've got a room that we can't baby proof and can't always leave the door closed to but there's really only about an inch of doorframe that a gate could be attached to...

Angel, is so much cheaper if you or DH are handy to make one. My DH went and bought two lengths of 2 x 4 and some dowling and some adjustable feet, and knocked up a barrier for our kitchen which is just under knee height so easy to step straigh over but high enough to keep jackson out, cost him $15 for materials.

Our gate is fairly slim around 1 inch, but the connectors to the wall are 1 1/2 inches, it is the Protecta by Infa.

Min, I'll have to see what DH thinks about putting one together... although I think by the time DH got around to doing it Kynan would be old enough to step over it PMSL!
