Question Could This Be A Wonder Week?

DD2 turned One 2 days ago, we had a few big days but she was sleeping fine, yesterday she was a bit off at bed time and was fed to sleep, last night took a bit to get her off for her night sleep (normally fed to sleep around 7:30 and out after 5min)

She woke at 3:30, i went in cuddled her she was drifting off, gave her a feed but the minute she was back in bed SCREAMING, got her back up, rocked her, bit more booby comfort sucking back in bed asleep SCREAMING... did a quick dash to the loo before i pee'd myself ( sorry TMI) then rocked and back in bed you guessed it MORE SCREAMING soi bought her into our bed, she was sooking a little, feeding then nearly asleep more sooking and then playing it was 5:30 in the morning she'd been up TWO HOURS!

Didn't want to wake DP or DD1 who had decided she wanted to sleep in our bed after coming in to read a book with me so i got up and took DD2 to the couch, we laid down, cuddled and comfort sucked for where she fell asleep for a 20min nap and then was up for the day.

I put her to bed at 9:20 so about 10min ago and she is now sooking in her cot and by the sounds of it on the monitor is working up to a screaming match (at which point i will go get her)

So could this be a winder week, i have looked and it doesn't look like there are teeth moving, she has known she can stand up in her cot for over a month now and it hasn't been an issue... it's heartbreaking to hear her sooking and so so tiring being up and down with her... any ideas?
I could almost guarantee i go in there she will have a quick suck and be out cold even after feeding most of the night eating 2 slices of toast a slice of watermelon and some strawberries for breakfast.

Forgot to mention the other day her sister got her in the back of the head with a toy which in turn gave her a blood nose, we went to emergency as i found it odd and she didn't seem herself, she was hell that night which we put down to a headache, the next day was her b'day she had 1 day sleep and a big day and actually went off quiet easily at her nans then yesterday she was feral again.

I just went in to settle her then, the minute i pick her up she is basically asleep on my shoulder, i sat and cuddled her, tried putting her into bed 3 times.. SCREAMING.. i fed her she was asleep even enough for me to remove my boob which is normally my cue to put her in bed NOPE she's crying again.
I am leaving her for a minute and will see what she does, might have to feed her to sleep on her sister little couch or something...

I have no idea whats wrong with her... should i be worried about the knock from the other day?

Could be, there is one Wonder Week around 52 weeks. You'd have to look at the book, or the WW iPhone app.

I have no idea about wonder weeks.
Does she have a bruise on the back of her head that is really tender and could be waking her? Maybe she still has a headache and it hurts when she's lying flat?

I'd trust your mummy instinct, if you think somethings wrong take her back to the doctors.

No bruise that i can see and no lump, will see how she goes after lunch and if it's still an issue will try some panadol then if we have another dodgy night i might get her checked JIC.
    Thanks ladies.

Hey ZF, my DD is 1 next week, and she has been much like your DD. She was up screaming in the middle of the night twice this week, for no apparent reason. I was doing the same things as you, trying to rock her to sleep, but as soon as i put her down, she was screaming again. I was up with her for 4 hours b/w 1.30 and 5.30. I'm pretty sure I recall others talking about the 1 year growth spurt/wonder week. Also, my DD has just mastered standing on her own, so I think she has a lot going on in her head, and she wants to practice her new trick.

55 weeks is a wonder week babe! Give or take a couple of weeks either side depending on the child.

We went through something similar for quite a while around the same age. Separation anxiety is supposed to peak around now so maybe she's just wanting her mummy a bit more at the moment. Having said that the bruise on the back of her head suggestion sounds pretty plausible to me too, or being a bit overstimulated from birthday & presents etc.

Hope she's back to her usual self soon.

Hmm i hope it's not seperation anxiety i only JUST got her enjoying going to other people, she has seemed fine going to DP etc.
Not sure about the bruise though as she seems fine to lay on my arms or on the couch etc and not be bothered by me touching the back of her head.

I have no idea.. maybe it's cos she looks like she might not be far off walking.. who knows.. it's now 12:30 and she's had all of 20min since 3:30 this morning.

Hmm, no doesn't sound like a bruise then. The separation anxiety may just be manifesting itself in a different way now. Just had another thought that she couldn't be coming down with something could she?

Gave her some panadol and fed her to sleep in my bed and FINALLY got to slip out, just had a Latte and am about to go psycho on my cleaning before she wakes, hopefully she gets in a nice BIG nap.

she was awake 9.5hrs with only 20min sleep.

I borrowed "The Wonder Weeks" from the local library and found it so helpful with working out what was going on with M at different times. Then I went and bought a copy online. I highly recommend reading it.

    I hope Z settles soon!
