DH just took DS1 to hospital

and we dont know whats wrong.

Theres nothing obviously wrong with him but DS1 (who is 4) woke up screaming about an hour ago saying that his neck hurt and he couldnt move. He was extremely distressed. DH gave him panadol but 30-60mins mins later DS says it still hurts just as much.

I really think that he has just slept on it oddly or its stiff (we had a 6 hour car trip today) - he has a very low pain threshold - but it was fine when he went to bed just when he woke up hysterical at 1am.

So DH has put him in the car and taken him to hospital, which is only about 20mins away.

Im hoping they say its not urgent and send him home to go to the doctor or physio tomorrow, but I wanted to get him checkd in case something has bitten him, like a spider or something?

To make it worse, Im sitting here feeling guilty becuase foremost on my mind is that we have no ambulance cover (first time in 5 years I haent been able to afford it) and that if something is wrong they might want to transfer him to another hospital. 3 guesses what I have to organise tomorrow - too late for this time I know

Thinking of you RayRay - and I hope there's nothing wrong with your son. Mine complains of various aches after a few hours in the car, but after an hour of cuddles and play he's happy to go to bed again, let's hope that's all it is.

OK, DH just rang me from A&E, they are coming home but have to go in for an xray tomorrow morning.
The doctor they saw said his collar bone felt "funny" and gave him neurofen.

How do you injure your collar bone without knowing??? He was fine all day and at bedtime, he hasnt had any falls that we know of, DH asked him if he fell out of bed but he said no..

I'm not 100% sure on ambulance cover, but I thought they only charged you for transport from public areas to a hospital. I thought hospital to hospital transfers were covered by the referring hospital.

Oh, RayRay, it must be very stressful for you - it's very hard when you know your children are in pain and you can't do anything to fix it.

I really hope that whatever the issue is (and I really hope it's not serious) that your DS is feeling a lot better and that his pain levels are much better.
