    Disconnected

I know this may sound stupid, but I feel kinda disconnected from my son. He is 14 months old, but very delayed and we have been through a lot. I just feel like I can't do it right nd he is never happy when i TRY TO PLAY WITH HIM, SO i JUST GIVE UP. i AM TOO SCARED TO TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT IT BECUASE I FEEL LIKE IT MEANS I AM A BAD MUM.

Supa star - you are not a bad mum at all! I imagine a lot of people in the same situation would feel the same. Have you seen a speech therapist or OT? They can help you with games you could play with him and different ways to engage him. Or how about a simple walk or trip to the park? Maybe just being outside taking in all his surroundings might be enough to keep him happy? Good luck!

i think you should talk to someone - perhaps a counsellor in your area? i saw a counsellor when i was going through a rough patch and it helped so much.... and made me realise how normal i was! i highly recommend talking it through with someone who can help

    good luck

The mere fact that you acknowledge the problem enough to post in here about it shows that you are not a bad mum . Speak to your MCHN or another trusted health professional... be upfront like you have been in here... they will admire your awareness, not judge you. Have a go, seek help, for both you and your son's sake. Let us know how it goes
