If it were family, then I wouldn't feel guilty, but I would with friends. I don't get much help here. Even though we have all our family around us, and a heap of friends, I don't often have people offering to babysit. So when I do ask my family, I don't feel bad as it's not often that it happens. I do babysit other friends kids regularly, and I love it.

No one asks me to babysit much (everyone we know seems to have family for that) but nearly everyday after school there is at least 1 child here playing with my kids... and during the school holidays our place is the place to be... once I had 9 teenagers plus my kids. All these 13 and 14 yos had parents that worked and just let them roam the streets... when they got bored with that they'd come to my place to hang out with my teen DD. Does that count? They eat me out of house and home and keep me on my feet closing gates and doors so that my 3yo doesn't escape. I figure I'd rather them come here than let my teen DD join them roaming where-ever.
