I'm not a morning person and the idea of getting out of bed before absolutely necessary has always seemed like sheer lunacy to me.
So DD normally wakes me and while I'm lucky that she sleeps till quite late, I'm sure that you'll all know that being 'on call' from the moment you wake up, is not very relaxing.
This morning I accidentally woke up at 5.30am (long story) but it was GREAT to have a couple of hours to myself before DD woke up. Actually, I woke her up. Made me feel much more relaxed that it wasn't red alert and rush, rush, rush getting milk and breakfast from the word go.
So d'you wait for your toddler to wake up before you get up or d'you wake them up after having a bit of time to at least have a cuppa?
I'm not usually a fan of getting up at 5am when DS wakes up, so we put him in bed with us till around 6 or 6.30 (but he doesn't go back to sleep, just bashes the crap out of us mostly) and then DH gets up with him, and lets me sleep in till 7.30 until DD wakes up.
This is only happening cos I'm pregnant, and not sleeping well because of back pain.
I get woken up... Usually by my oldest going to the toilet.
I am not a morning person so i manage to get the kids all a drink of milk and me a coffee and we go curl up on the couch until the coffee has started to work lol!
