We took 21-month-old DD to the kiddies playground yesterday.
She made a beeline for the swing even though there was another little boy on it. So we made her wait her turn.
Then happy, happy, swing, swing for longer than she should have been on as I was conscious that she was hogging it.
So we took her off it.
She BAWLED. Refused to go on anything else even though I put her on the top of the slide (she likes slides). Instead tried to hurl herself off the side of the slide and when her feet touched the ground she was off running back to the swing.
Such fun!
Anyhow, we decided we'd best head back home. Easier said than done. Kicking and screaming when we tried to put her in the stroller and yes, it did take both of us.
Still crying fifteen minutes later even though we were now well away and contorting herself in the stroller and trying to point at the beeping swing.
Last night at bedtime she found a picture of a swing in her book. Refused to let me turn the page and kept pointing to it for ten minutes so I had to say, "yes DD, that's a swing" at least 50 times.
