Does anyone have suggestions of parent rooms in the city? I went to the DJs parent room and couldn't get my pram in the bathroom The feeding cubicle was great though. I haven't attempted Myers yet. Do we access from George Street, are the lifts easy to get to? Are these department stores the only parent rooms to go to in the city?
Thanks My first trip was slightly overwhelming and would appreciate some tips!
Hi Jan, I havent had too much experience in the city. I dont go in there often as I am close to 2 large shopping centres & dont have any need to go there.
I have used the David Jones parent room when I was there for santa photos in Dec 2005 & it was so cramped especially getting all the prams in...
Maybe try myer as you mentioned, I'm sure it couldn't be any worse than DJ's...
Thanks for the suggestions. I can't believe the facilities are so poor in the city! you would think they would want to enourage mums to shop, not to stay home because of crappy parent rooms. I will definitely try the one in the food court, hadn't thought of that. The Myers one sounds terrible.
Unfortunately the city is not a great place to shop with a pram... my DD and I had a terrrible shopping experience in the city one day. The parents room in the food court under Myer in the city is nice but small - you cannot bring your pram and yourself into the toilet together if you need to go... although there is a disabled toilet you can use close by that fits both.
The best parents room I have ever visited is at the Westfield @ Bondi Junction - not to far from the city - it is almost like a hotel room! Nice & new & always clean! My girlfriends, DD and I can all happily spend the entire day there shopping! Soooo relaxing when everything is in one spot. I can also convince my DH to come sometimes too he he. It is definately my favourite spot to shop with or without a pram!!!!
I've found a small parents room in the basement of Galleries Victoria near Town hall Station entrance it was a little small, but was clean & didn't smell at the time I was there. havent found one down Wynard station end tho. Not sure if there is one near Circular Quay?
The parent's room at the Plaza in Mildura rocks the Kazba!! There's a microwave, huge door with a push button entry (can get my big pram in there no worries), heaps of cubicles, a big shiny laundry sink and heaps of little change tables built in to the bench. I am soooooo surprised that there isn't anything decent in Sydney - of all places!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What on Earth is going on there?
When I was pregnant I had visions of meeting DH for lunch once in awhile with bubby, now it seems way too hard! I might give it one more go but I'll have to be very planned on where I'm going.
