I've wondered about this too, if the gender babies I have will affect their relationship. I grew up with a brother 2 1/2 years younger than me, and we were best friends. We very rarely fought, and I was so protective of him - I wouldn't let Mum tell him off! Apparently when I started Kindy he would cry himself to sleep and only cheer up when I got home. Starting school was hard on us, and I remember when I found out I got 6 weeks holidays over Christmas we were so excited that we had so long to spend together, we danced around the loungeroom making up songs about how happy we were lol. Then we decided the easiest thing for everyone would be if we married each other when we grew up!! Things have obviously changed since then but we still get along really well.
I always thought it was because we were opposite that we got along so well. Two families close to us had the opposite experience - one had two boys then a girl - the boys fought non stop, but both got along with the girl. The other family had two girls and a boy, and the girls hated each other but doted over the boy. So I dunno!
But then I met DH, and he has a sister 3 years older, and they were apparently horrible growing up!
